Baxter Library
The library program provides intellectual and physical access to information and ideas that support the education of our students at Avon Old Farms School in an environment that is conducive to learning. At Baxter Library, our goal is to ensure that the students and faculty acquire information they need for their classroom, and, at the same time, encourage intellectual discovery through electronic and traditional resources.
Currently, the collection consists of approximately 25,000 books, 400 titles in EBook format to enhance the reference collection, a large collection of DVD’s, and over 70 periodical and newspaper subscriptions. The Baxter Library page of the school’s website has reference databases accessible both on campus and from the student’s home with remote access codes that provide many other resources for learning including the Connecticut Digital Library, EBSCO’s Literary Reference Center, SIRS Knowledge Source, Proust Historical NY TIMES, and many more.
The Baxter Library is available to all members of the Avon Old Farms School community during the hours listed or by appointment.
