Event Recap: Avon opened up the season with a rather inconsistent performance. We gave up a weak goal off a corner kick, seventeen minutes in, and finished the half down 1 - 0. We started putting passes together, challenging for loose balls, and generally playing smarter in the second half. Jeff Stallmeyer scored our first goal, off a goalmouth scramble, assisted by Dante Britiss. Five more goals followed in quick succession, as we built upon our second half start - Demorais scored the next two (assist to Tae Kim), RJ Previdi (assist to Joon Song), Dante Britiss, and Bosco Marten.
David Szewczul had an outstanding second half playing stopper.
So, while not a great start (despite what the score might seem to indicate), there were certainly positives upon which we can build in future practices and games…..and the team certainly showed a willingness to watch, listen, and learn today.
