Event Recap: Avon controlled much of the possession in the first half, passing the ball smartly across the backfield and down the wings. However, the Loomis defense and goalie proved very stubborn, turning us away time after time until….ten minutes into the half. Ignacio Lecocq put a nice through ball to RJ Previdi, who wasted no time burying it in the back of the net. That was the only opportunity we were able to take advantage of in the first half.
While the second half was more competitive, with Loomis trying to put several through balls behind our fullbacks, Matt Detora and Andrew Benson were unbeatable. At the seven minute mark, Tae Hyoung Kim made a very nice run down the left wing, crossing the ball to the front of the net, where Bosco Marten put a half-volley by the goalie. Fifteen minutes later, it was RJ Previdi once again, off a cross from Ignacio Lecocq.
A solid effort against a solid opponent.
