I hope you enjoyed some quality time with your son this March break. As he begins his senior spring, I am sure you are thinking about Commencement weekend, May 25 and 26. To help you with your plans, the following is an overview of graduation week activities.  A list of local hotels and restaurants can be found on the “Parents” tab of our website, and I encourage you to make plans as soon as you can, as accommodations in the Farmington Valley are always limited at graduation time.

Commencement Information

Friday, May 24

  • Senior Day at High Meadow - 8:30 AM
    The seniors will enjoy a day of games and fun together away from campus and return by 4:00. When the students return to campus, you are welcome join them for dinner on or off campus Friday evening, as there are no formal activities scheduled.
  • Student Art Show - Tiernan Room - 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday, May 25

  • Commencement Rehearsal - 8:30 AM
  • Student Art Show - Tiernan Room 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Commencement Concert – Chamber Ensemble & Vocal Program - 4:00 PM
  • Buffet dinner in the Riddle Refectory - 5:15 - 6:30 PM
  • Senior Awards/Cum Laude Ceremony in the Field House - 7:00 PM

You and your family and guests are invited to attend the chorale concert and buffet dinner followed by the Senior Awards/Cum Laude ceremony. All seniors must attend. Following the awards ceremony, seniors are required to spend Saturday night with their parents, either at home or at their hotel lodgings, returning to campus on Sunday morning in plenty of time to gather for Commencement. This tradition helps the weekend flow smoothly and ensures that we all get a good night's rest before the big day.

Sunday, May 26

  • Commencement - 10:00 AM

Commencement ceremonies will take place on the Village Green, followed by a reception in the Riddle Refectory. In the event of inclement weather, Commencement will be held in the Field House. The ceremonies will conclude by noon. Seniors should be packed and ready to leave with their families that afternoon. Graduation announcements and name cards were mailed to you for your use. You may invite as many family members and friends to attend graduation as you would like. It is not necessary to have an invitation to attend the ceremony. Handicapped access parking is located behind the hockey rink. If necessary, you can drop off at the hockey rink circle and then proceed to park behind the rink.
