National Council: Fall 2021 Meeting

National Council: Fall 2021 Meeting

The National Council met in-person for the first time in 18 months for its biannual meeting. The primary goal of the National Council is to enhance communications and the exchange of ideas between the Avon Old Farms School community and a select group of Avon’s most dedicated alumni, parents, and past parents. Members of the National Council serve as informed ambassadors for Avon in their spheres of influence and as effective resources for the Avon community. The National Council recently restructured and created three working committees: Engagement, Fundraising, and Admission to better streamline efforts to support school. The Council welcomed the following new members to serve a three-year term: Porter Dowling ’12, Charlie Hamilton ’03, Sabrina Rettaliata P’16, ’21, and Steve Roge ’92.

In addition to hearing a state of the school address from Head of School Jim Detora, council members also met with current students who shared their desire to connect with alumni for both personal and professional networking reasons. Please help current students access the talented network of Avon alumni by registering on the digital alumni directory today. This platform allows Avonians to search for fellow alumni by location, profession, education and also allows the opportunity to offer or seek a mentoring relationship.
