Avon Old Farms School began hiring "progressive teachers who trained a student to 'seek knowledge and establish facts for himself'" in 1927 – a tradition that remains strong today.

About Mr. Rothmann
I was born and raised in Avon in the middle of two brothers, one of which graduated from Avon Old Farms after me in 2014. I have grown up spending my summers in Chilmark on the island of Martha's Vineyard. After graduating from Avon in 2011, I went on to study at Trinity College where I developed a sports marketing group called the Trinity College Recreation Department. During my junior year, I studied abroad at Oxford University in England for a year. Some of my non-academic interests include marketing, advertising, cooking, all sports Boston, and fitness.
What experience led you to Avon Old Farms School?
I have an English Literature background, so I am utilizing my writing experience to work with our communications team in continuously developing our marketing and advertising materials. My most important experience, however, is being the Warden of my senior class while at Avon. I know an Avon boy when I see him, and my experiences from my time here as a student enable me to evaluate prospective students more completely.
Why do you work at Avon Old Farms School?
I am here because I want to give back to the place that made me into the man that I am today. There is a brotherhood at Avon because every student goes through a very similar experience, and they share this experience. I want to provide current and future Avonians with the same great experience that I had while at Avon. This place is the perfect setting for boys to grow and prosper into outstanding men in our society, and I want to help fuel this transformation whether it is in the classroom, on the field, in the recording studio, on the stage, or in the lab.
