About Mrs. Alenckis
I live in Watertown, Connecticut with my husband Ray. We have five children and four grandchildren ... so far! Our family is spread out along the east cost so I treasure the times when we are all together.
WHAT EXPERIENCE LED YOU TO AVON OLD FARMS SCHOOL?
I am an Air Force veteran of ten years and was stationed in Louisiana, Utah, and the Philippines. I participated in several deployments to the Middle East during my time in the military. I then moved on to the Waterbury Police Department. During my time in Waterbury I was assigned to the Patrol Unit, the Mountain Bike Patrol Unit, and the Community Relations Unit before being promoted to Detective. While in the Detective Bureau I worked in the Special Victims Unit, investigating child and abuse cases. I was then promoted to Sergeant and worked in the Patrol Unit and as the Sergeant in Charge of the Special Victims Unit. After retiring from Waterbury Police department I accepted the School Resource Officer position for the Region 12 School District, serving in the towns of Washington, Roxbury and Bridgewater. Following my time in Region 12, I had the opportunity to serve as the Director of Security for Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury Connecticut.
WHY DO YOU WORK AT AVON OLD FARMS?
All of my experiences and opportunities have lead me to the realization that my passion lies in serving children. I enjoy being part of the educational environment, ensuring and instilling a valid sense of safety and security to those I serve. The founder of Avon Old Farms School, Theodate Pope Riddle, stated "This place means peace to my soul." I intend to continue that sentiment. I intend to ensure that Avon Old Farms School remains the safest community our young men learn, grow, and discover in.
