"Each moment at Avon is an opportunity to become a better version of yourself in the classroom, on the field, and in life."
"My first couple days at Avon I was told, “You get out what you put out.” I had no comprehension at the time about what that really meant, but now in my final months at Avon, I can see it for what it really means.
Each moment at Avon is an opportunity to become a better version of yourself in the classroom, on the field, and in life. My largest regret is not spending more time at school enjoying every second. Avon forces students to hold themselves to a higher standard; this has directly correlated to me becoming a version of myself I didn’t think was possible. The college-based environment taught me that I am going to fail, but what I do next is what truly matters.
It would have been easy to give up when I got cut from varsity soccer my first two years here; instead Avon taught me to grind and fight for what you care about, which has given me the chance to play college soccer. That wouldn't have been possible without the continued support of teachers, advisors, and coaches who kept me on top of my work and pushed me to succeed. They were always available to talk and teach me valuable lessons you won’t find anywhere else.
Sticking to what's comfortable is not maximizing the experience Avon has to offer. Coming from a public school, arts and diversity were not typical. But at Avon, kids are implored to push the limits. By coming to Avon, I have built a family that has diversified me in every aspect."
