"The immense support and unyielding enthusiasm between brothers have motivated me to pursue my dreams..."
"Upon entering the campus during my school visit, I was immediately stunned by the outgoing students, beautiful scenery, and the overwhelming energy I felt.
This school has helped me realize and allowed me to pursue my interest in becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon; with the help of Dr. Malchoff, Mr. Cantello, and Mrs. Buenaventura, I was able to earn a spot in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Summer Internship at Stanford. With the experience I have gained, I will be continuing this path by participating in internships at a hospital throughout the school year and going to Maui for the AAMS Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Conference and hopefully head on to college well prepared.
Without the lessons of persistence and mental toughness Major Bourgault has gifted me and the guidance Mrs. Pinton has provided me at Avon, I would not be the person I am today. If there is one thing I have learned from this life-changing experience, it would be that there will be many hardships in life that you will have to battle through to reach your goals and that, as Major Bourgault has said, "you do not have to do something, you get to do something."
It is through Avon Old Farm's Brotherhood that boys strive to become men. The immense support and unyielding enthusiasm between brothers have motivated me to pursue my dreams in this competitive world."
