Avon Old Farms Students become part of the legend

Whether our athletes have a professional future or are trying a sport for the first time, the athletic program wholly supports and challenges each student.

Although we've won more than 30 league and New England championships over the last 15 years, we are most proud of ensuring that an athletic experience is accessible to and enjoyed by all of our students.

Is it mandatory for me to play three sports?

No. You are required to participate in two competitive sports out of the three seasons that you are at Avon. However, there are several afternoon activities that fall under the category of “competitive sport” (Robotics, Independent Art Project, Drama, Team Manager). Freshmen are encouraged to participate in a competitive sport during the fall season, as being a part of a team is valuable when it comes to acclimating to a new community environment. Seniors are only required to participate in one competitive sport. AOF Strength does not count as a competitive sport, and is only open to grades 10, 11, 12 and PGs.

#WingedBeavers

The Winged Beaver, reflects the school’s motto Aspirando et Perseverando, which translates into aspiring and persevering. The wings of aspiration represent the soaring flight of an eagle and perseverance is symbolized in the relentless effort of a beaver.
