We Remember

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue; I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.

Where never lark, or even eagle flew; And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high, untrespassed sanctity of space; Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

JOHN GILLESPIE MAGEE JR. '40, FROM THE POEM "HIGH FLIGHT"

Christopher S. Kelly '94

Christopher S. Kelly, born 6/17/1976, died too soon. Our hearts have broken over the passing of this beautiful soul. He was a gentle and loving person – with his big wide smile, huge hugs, and generous spirit. He was an animal lover, always using such a soft voice. He adored his cat ‘Christmas’ but also rescued and fed local strays. Chris loved the ocean – an avid surfer his entire life, he was happiest when he was in “the blue room”. He loved to fish, even when he caught no fish. He loved boats and spent many years as a marine surveyor, like his dad. He loved the stars and the planets, eclipses and universes. But most of all, he loved his family. He will be remembered for all of the goodness in him. A beloved son to his parents Dennis and Betty, a beloved little brother (Ducky) to his sister Gwennie and her husband Eric, and such a loving Uncle Duck to Hannah, Lukas, and Logan, whom he adored. He also loved his son Christian. We will always love you Chris, forever and ever.
