We Remember

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue; I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.

Where never lark, or even eagle flew; And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high, untrespassed sanctity of space; Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

JOHN GILLESPIE MAGEE JR. '40, FROM THE POEM "HIGH FLIGHT"

Man of Avon: Connor S. Zieky '10

Connor Scott Zieky - A light has gone out of our lives with the passing of our dearly loved son, brother, grandson and friend. Connor Scott Zieky, 27, of Avon, CT passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2018. The beloved son of Jon and Liz Zieky, adored by his brothers, Jake, Alex, Chase Zieky and honorary brother, Dylan Quenneville, grandparents Craig and Nancy Nation, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He joins his grandparents, Janet and Paul Zieky (Nanny and Grumps) and his great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Shepard (Neen). Connor was born in West Hartford, CT on September 24, 1991 with the kindest heart, most contagious laugh, and joyful spirit. Taken much too soon, he lived a lifetime in his short 27 years. With a zest for life and sense of adventure, Connor lived his life to the very fullest; always sharing his joy with friends and family. His ability to love wholeheartedly and light up a room with his mischievous smile was matched only by his great-grandmother, Neen. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 11:00 am at Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to make a donation to a memorial fund created in Connor Scott Ziekys name at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, 10 Columbus Boulevard, 8th Floor, Hartford, CT 06106 or online at www.hfpg.org/donate. There will always be music in his heart, a hockey game around the corner and a fishing trip on the horizon. Connor closed his eyes knowing he was so loved.
