Jeffrey G. Shinners, 82, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at home. He was born in Springfield, son of the late Gordon and Jeanne (Hull) Shinners, and grew up in West Springfield. He lived in Cromwell, CT for a few years before returning to West Springfield in 2013. He graduated from Avon Old Farms, University of Tampa, and American International College where he served as AIC Alumni Springfield Chapter President. Jeffrey was president and owner of Pioneer Packaging in Chicopee. He received the Shining Star Award for Business Man of the Year in Chicopee and was head of the Manufacturer's Committee in Chicopee. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Paperboard Packaging Council. He enjoyed trains, boating, sports fishing and skiing.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two daughters, Roxanne Shinners and Jill Shinners. He leaves his wife, who he cared very much for, Diane (Memery) Shinners, two grandchildren, Addison and Taylor Camossi, a brother, Arthur James Shinners of Stowe, VT, a sister, Candace S. Martens of Clearwater, FL, two sisters-in-law, Nancy Sessums of Jackson, MS, Susan Bruce of Longmeadow, and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023 from 3-5pm at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, followed by a funeral home service at 5pm. The burial will be private.
