We Remember

"Up, up the long delirious burning blue; I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.

Where never lark, or even eagle flew; And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high, untrespassed sanctity of space; Put out my hand, and touched the face of God."

JOHN GILLESPIE MAGEE JR. '40, FROM THE POEM "HIGH FLIGHT"

Myles P. Varley II '96

Myles Patrick Varley II, a devoted husband, loving father, and everyone’s favorite friend passed away on February 12, 2024 at the age of 46.

He shared 19 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Alison, and together they were the proud parents of their children; Grace, Myles III, and Conor. Myles' family and his many friends were the center of his world, and his fun-loving energy and genuine love and enjoyment of life enriched the lives of everyone around him.

Myles was a proud graduate of Rutgers University who then went on to obtain his J.D. from Touro Law School.

Myles could always be found on the sidelines of his children’s sports. You couldn’t miss him in a trucker hat and vest, telling stories while simultaneously providing running commentary on the game. He loved living by the water, boating and the beach and held a perfect attendance record every Wednesday at Schooners.

Myles is also survived by his parents Geraldine and Michael Varley and his brothers and sister in laws; Michael and Mandy, Rutledge and Heather and Greer and Caitlin Varley and sister in-law Tiffany Varley. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law Christine and Kerry Doran and his brother and sister in-law Paul and Megan Doran, along with his nephew Parker and niece Caroline Doran.

May he rest in eternal peace, together with his brother Emmett, and may his memory be a source of comfort to all who mourn his passing.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to "Morgans Message".
