Schedules

The 2018-19 academic schedules are now available. You can access your child's schedule by following these steps:


  1. Log in to the Veracross Parent Portal*
  2. Select the Classes and Reports button 
  3. Select the Current Class Schedule link 


*Forgot your username and/or password? You can reset it by clicking on the "Can't Access your Account" link at the bottom of the Veracross Portal login page. If you have difficulty accessing the portal, please contact Sheila Albert, Database Administrator, at alberts@avonoldfarms.com.

 

It is important to review the academic schedule since conflicts may arise during the scheduling process which may impact purchasing books and planning for the upcoming school year.

 

Note: Learning Center assignments will be added to the schedules in the coming weeks. The current class schedule link will display the most up-to-date academic schedule.

Online Bookstore

You can access the online bookstore via the parent page of our website beginning August 21. If you purchase textbooks through another vendor, please refer to the online bookstore for ISBN numbers to ensure that you buy correct editions.

 

Health Forms

Please log in to your son's Magnus Health Portal to complete/update all required forms and information as soon as possible. Students will not be allowed to stay on campus or participate in sports without a current physical exam on file.  Learn More

WHEN TO ARRIVE AT SCHOOL

 


Wed., Aug. 29, 2 - 4 p.m.: Varsity Sports Camp Candidates

 

  • Only by written invitation and acceptance – all Varsity Football, Varsity Soccer and Varsity Cross Country candidates return. If a student is invited to participate in pre-season camp, he would have received a letter of invitation from the Athletic Director by the end of June.

 


Mon., Sep. 3, 3 - 5 p.m.: Monitor Registration

 

  • All monitors arrive for training sessions and dinner.

 


Tues., Sep. 4, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.: New Students Registration

 

  • All new boarding and new day students arrive.
  • All new students and their parents meet in the Brown Auditorium at 1:15 p.m. for the Headmaster welcome and tour of campus with advisors.
     


Wed., Sep. 5, 1 - 3 p.m.: Returning Students Registration

 

  • All remaining returning boarding and day students arrive.
  • Students will have the opportunity to purchase their books and prepare for classes the next day and must also be present at a meeting in the Brown Auditorium on Wed., Sep. 5 at 7 p.m.
     


Thurs., Sep. 6, 7:45 a.m.: Classes Begin with Morning Meeting 

 

  • Regular school "jacket and tie" dress.

Class of 2019

 

  • Aug.1: 2018-2019 Common Application goes live. View helpful instructions for filling out the Common Application and essay prewriting, drafting, and revision.
  • Continue to demonstrate interest and evaluate fit by visiting colleges over the summer. Make the most of your visits by referencing our College Visit Checklist.
  • For additional information and summer reminders, please read our Midsummer Message.
  • Naviance will be transitioning from Family Connection to a more mobile-responsive system this August called Naviance Student. Please read this message from Jonathan Crocker, Director of College Counseling, regarding the changes. Any questions or issues regarding the new platform can be directed to Claudine Meaney, Administrative Assistant, at 860-404-4215.


Class of 2020
Plan ahead and review our expectations and recommendations for standardized testing.

 


Testing

  • Aug. 25: SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Registration deadline is Jul. 27 with late registration accepted through Aug. 15. Test is not administered at AOF or internationally.
  • Sep. 8: ACT Test. Registration deadline is Aug. 10 with late registration accepted through Aug. 24. Test is not administered at AOF. 
  • Oct. 6: SAT and SAT Subject Tests. Registration deadline is Sep. 7 with late registration accepted through Sep. 26. Test is administered at AOF.
  • Oct. 27: ACT Test. Registration deadline is Sep. 28 with late registration accepted through Oct. 14. Test is administered at AOF.
