Class of 2019

Most early application deadlines have passed. The next round of applications will be Regular Decision with deadlines beginning on Dec. 1.

Application Decisions

Application results are important to us.  Remind your son to share his early application decisions with his counselor.

Please refer to the  Senior Year Timeline for a step by step look at where your son should be in the process.

Class of 2020

College counselor's assignments will be communicated to students in the Class of 2020 in mid-December.   Naviance accounts for parents and students will be activated at this time.

College Visits over Winter Break

Even if you or your son cannot visit the specific college(s) he may have an interest in, take any opportunity you may have during your travels to visit any college campus you can. Big school, small school; urban setting, college town setting; state school, private school—experience as much as you can before the selection season begins.

Naviance

Over break you will be getting a registration email from Naviance Student to log in to your account. Please contact Claudine Meaney (meaneyc@avonoldfarms.com) if you have any issues logging on.

Naviance Student allows you to:

  • Start researching colleges – Begin the process of narrowing down the choices using a variety of factors and seeing how you compare with other Avon applicants over the past few years at colleges of interest.
  • Start compiling the information you will need to complete college applications through building your resume document with all pertinent information.
  • Start building a timeline to successfully move through what you will need to accomplish as you move through the 2017-2018 application cycle.

We will send an email indicating that you have been registered on the site. That email will also have a temporary password and a link to the Family Connection.

Please refer to the Junior Year Timeline for a step by step look at where your son should be in the process.

Testing
Sat., Dec. 1: SAT and Subject Tests—Your son will need to register with his College Board account by Nov. 20.

Please contact the College Counseling Office with any questions.
