Dear Parents,
I hope summer has been enjoyable and filled with exciting memories with your family and friends. At Avon Old Farms, summer has been a busy time on campus: our administration, faculty, and staff are working together to ensure the Avon experience is stronger than ever this upcoming year. I'm grateful to work alongside talented professionals that have your son's best interests at the forefront of their minds. Together, we reviewed key programs—from our core academic curricula to student life protocols—to ensure a creative and productive 2019 – 2020 school year.
I have communicated with students this summer, and they are enjoying the leisurely pace of the season; however, many are looking forward to seeing their 'brothers', teachers, and rejoining the wholesome lifestyle within our community. The campus comes to life when the boys arrive with their energy, purpose, vision, and enthusiasm; they carry our flag forward, living our motto: Aspirando et Perseverando.
This summer, our leadership team carefully examined and updated our Student Handbook to improve the student experience. Please review this handbook with your son to be aware of the content and revisions. Also, this communication includes information for the opening days of school, including required waivers for class field trips on September 7 and answers to frequently asked questions.
During the opening days, there will be time for parents to connect with advisors, administrators, dormitory heads, and other essential people. In the meantime, please contact me with questions at whittyr@avonoldfarms.com. I look forward to reconnecting with all of our returning families and meeting new members of our community.
