Good afternoon,
I am thrilled to share that our latest round of testing came back with 100% negative results. Our strategies to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 are working effectively, and I'm confident we have successfully created a healthy environment for our community. The students should be commended for their vigilance and, now that we are in round four of 100% negative results, we can continue to cautiously ease more restrictions which I will outline in a meeting with our students tomorrow afternoon.
I'm pleased to announce we will open campus to parents/caregivers who are within driving distance to visit with their sons on Saturday and Sunday between noon and 4 p.m. As a parent, I know how important these visits are to you. If you plan to come to campus to visit your son, please register with Anne Townsend by emailing townsenda@avonoldfarms.com by 4 p.m. Friday. Feel free to bring food, snacks, and supplies as the Refectory will be available for you to sit and have a meal with your son. The dorms remain closed to non-residents. Students must remain on campus due to our current COVID-19 restrictions.
Our community has worked hard to get to this point, and we do not want this gesture to jeopardize our healthy environment. With that said, please do not come to campus if you've been traveling, are not feeling well, or have been around anyone who may have been exposed to COVID-19. Masks and social distancing are required while on campus. Your partnership is critical to our success, and we thank you for your continued support and understanding!
