Avon Old Farms boasts an exemplary curriculum in visual and performing arts. Although our graduation requirements mandate only one art credit, 73% of Avon Old Farms students opt to engage in a comprehensive arts experience, immersing themselves in either the visual arts or musical realm.
Our diverse and robust programs offer numerous avenues for boys to unleash their creative expression. Whether participating in the renowned choral group, The Riddlers, or showcasing their talents as exceptional visual artists, our students consistently receive recognition at local, regional, and national levels. Avon Old Farms serves as a nurturing environment for young men of all experience levels to delve into the realms of drawing, painting, singing, or acting.

Courses in the art department are offered across a variety of mediums and are designed to give students individual voice and strengthen their confidence while building technical skill and artistic literacy.
Whether they are novices or experienced artists, students find respite in its unique space and inspiration in the creative process. Art teachers foster a fun and safe studio environment that encourages experimentation with many types of media and the sharing of artistic inspiration.

Music is Crucial to Development
Music education offers a unique learning opportunity to explore individual creativity, artistic expression, and in-depth understanding of cultures in the diverse world.
Students may elect to take courses in either instrumental or vocal music no matter their previous experience or ability. The Music Department believes that the study of music is crucial in developing the whole boy since it requires empathy, self-discipline, and collaboration.

More Opportunity to Shine
The theater is a place boys can go to build up their muscles of compassion; to practice listening and understanding; and to engage with people that aren't like themselves. In collaboration with nearby Miss Porter’s School, Avon's Old Farms Theater Company stages two or three major productions each year.
