A TIME TO ROAST, BOAST, AND TOAST JTG
John T. Gardner arrived at Avon Old Farms in 1975 to begin building an ice hockey program that would rival the best programs in New England. George Trautman was excited to have a new coach at the helm, but even he could not foresee the program that John would build.
Coach Gardner's legacy began that fall of 1975 and has spanned 46 years and counting. That legacy includes eight New England titles, countless Founders League Championships, Christmas Classic victories, and 799 wins.
His players are NHL Hall of Famers, Stanley Cup winners, Olympians, and Division 1 scholarship athletes.
Above all, he's spent decades teaching the game he loves to hundreds of young players while building men of integrity through teamwork and perseverance.
Please join us on November 17 to honor JTG and reminisce over the stories that have built the best hockey program in the country.
