I am the head of the club Helping Hands For CT and our annual drive is starting after Thanksgiving break until a little before the start of December break (December 2 - December 12). This year, Helping Hands for CT is donating all collected items to the Love Wins Community Drive organized by CCSU to support the Ana Grace Project.
The Ana Grace Project was started by a woman named Nelba Márquez-Greene for her daughter Anna Grace. Anna Grace was a Sandy Hook shooting victim. This charity is named Love Wins because Nelba believes that turning a negative situation into a positive situation is the only positive way to deal with her grief.
How You Can Help
There are donation bins set up around campus. One is located at the parent drop off section for day students, one outside of the Brown Auditorium, and one in the Hawk's Nest. This charity is in need of new and gently used hats, gloves, and winter clothing for adults and children. All donations need to be made my December 12th. Please know that your donation is going towards a good cause. Every item counts!
I will also be attending the Love Wins Drive on December 13th at Central Connecticut State University from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please feel free to sign up and volunteer your time towards this special event. Please feel free to contact me through email at Ginterj@avonoldfarms.com if you have any questions.
