Dear Members of the Avon Old Farms Community,
As promised, I wanted to share an encouraging update on the Head of School search that reflects the seriousness and care with which the Board of Directors is approaching this important work.
I am pleased to report that our process is ahead of schedule. We have selected and retained RG175 as our executive search partner. RG175 is a global search firm specializing in independent school leadership services. They will bring invaluable expertise and a deep knowledge of independent schools to the process.
Our Head of School Search Committee is now fully committed and ready to begin. Board Member and Search Committee Chair Neal Keating P'19 has assembled a group that reflects the breadth and depth of our community. We are grateful to each member for their willingness to serve at this important moment. In addition to Neal and myself, the Search Committee includes:
William P. Austin '92, Co-Vice Chairman and Treasurer, Board of Directors
Sarah Blanchard P'24, Director of Development
Graham Callaghan '95, P'25, Dean of Faculty
Russ Lallier '03, Board of Directors
Matthew Proffitt, Dean of Students
Peter Reed P'26, Board of Directors
Evan Sayles, Director of Academic Technology
Hank Smith P'17, '19, Board of Directors
Carolina Suarez P'24, Board of Directors
Our dedicated webpage for the Head of School search is now live for you to visit, serving as the central hub for all search-related communications, more information on RG175, the broad timeline, and opportunities for community engagement as the process evolves.
The formal search process will get underway this October with RG175 surveying the broader Avon community and interviewing alumni, administrators, faculty, staff, and students. The road ahead is an exciting one, and we look forward to identifying the next Head of School who will continue the great works of Jim Detora and his team and carry this School into its second century with the same conviction and purpose that have always defined it.
Aspirando et perseverando,
