FALL 2025 ALUMNI COUNCIL UPDATE
Avon Old Farms Alumni Council Update
Members of the Avon Old Farms Alumni Council serve not only as leaders within the alumni community, but also as trusted partners in helping Avon to achieve its broader institutional goals. Council members bring their alumni voice to the table, strengthen bonds among graduates, and create meaningful opportunities for connection between alumni and students. Their dedication ensures that Avon continues to move forward, grounded in its mission and strengthened by the passion of those who once called campus home.
The Alumni Council convenes on campus in person each fall and spring, with a virtual working meeting in the winter to sustain momentum. This fall, the 2025–26 Council convened on Avon’s campus at the start of Reunion Weekend. This year, the Council has identified goals to build and strengthen the Avon community, promote lifelong learning, and inspire alumni to support Avon through their time, talent, and resources. With these priorities in mind, the 2025–26 Council is organized into three working committees:
The Fundraising Committee leads efforts to bolster alumni giving and participation for the Fund for Avon. Their target is a 19 percent alumni participation rate, a benchmark that reflects the importance of collective generosity. Beyond raising dollars, the committee’s work emphasizes the significant impact of every gift, ensuring that Avon students continue to benefit from an education rooted in tradition, excellence, and brotherhood.
The Alumni Peer Engagement Committee is committed to fostering connections among alumni. This group promotes the AOF Alumni Network as a dynamic platform for personal and professional connections, encourages participation in the structured annual Mentorship Program, and supports the springtime virtual global networking event. These initiatives make it easier for alumni to share their expertise, broaden their professional networks, and stay connected to Avon and one another.
The Alumni and Student Engagement Committee focuses on building bridges between alumni and today’s students. Their work includes organizing the highly anticipated Alumni Career Day on November 15, 2025, a cornerstone event that provides students with invaluable career guidance, as well as supporting other programs such as Intersession and Compass. Through these efforts, alumni inspire and mentor the next generation of Avonians, reinforcing the School’s values while preparing students for life beyond Avon.
Through their leadership, dedication, and vision, the Alumni Council strengthens the entire Avon community, ensuring that alumni remain connected to the School and to one another while helping Avon thrive in the years to come. In addition to these goals, the Council also proudly hosts the annual Alumni Welcome Dinner each spring, officially welcoming the graduating class into the alumni community.
We thank the Council and all of its members for their outstanding commitment to Avon Old Farms and the Avon Brotherhood.
