Camp Director

Joseph Traversa
Director of Sports Performance

  • Director of Sports Performance at Avon for past 2 years
  • Masters Degree in Strength and Conditioning
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association
  • Holds a Functional Movement Screen Level 1 Certification
  • Holds a CPR/AED Certification
  • Former Division 3 Baseball player

My passion for strength and conditioning blossomed while I was playing sports in high school. I always loved the environment of team lifts and the energy that my coaches brought out of us. While I was playing baseball in college, this passion grew, so I completed multiple internships, including one with Sacred Heart University Athletics. After earning my undergraduate degree in exercise science, I completed my master’s degree in strength and conditioning. During this time, I got my CSCS and FMS level 1 certifications to further my knowledge. What I truly enjoy about my role is working with athletes in all different sports and helping them unlock their athletic potential. I have been the Director of Sports Performance for the past two years at Avon.
