Sports Medicine

The Avon Old Farms sports medicine team consists of two athletic trainers, an on-site physical therapist, and an orthopedic surgeon. The on-campus school pediatrician and the school nursing staff assist the sports medicine staff. They are devoted to the care, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries with the safety and welfare of our students being top priority.

Athletics Performance Team

Inspired by collegiate athletic programs and the ambition to optimize the overall health of our community, Avon Old Farms School’s new Athletics Performance Team aims to provide comprehensive health and wellness programming and resources for our students. The performance team utilizes a more holistic, multidisciplinary approach in an effort to enhance our students’ physical and mental health, safety, personal development, and general well-being.

Our Athletics Performance Team, which is the first of its kind in the Founders League, combines several of the resources our school offers including but not limited to: strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports psychology, athletic trainers, and sports medicine.

    Hailing from Ecuador, Pablo Paredes '26 chose Avon Old Farms as the next step in his squash career, and has spent the last two seasons as captain of the varsity team. We sat down with Pablo to learn more about his role and what his hopes are for the season.
