Avon Old Farms is fortunate to receive applications from nearly 600 talented and motivated young men each year. As a result, we have more admissible candidates than we have space available. Boys who are offered a position on the Waiting List are those whom we would like to include in our community. If space becomes available, they are the students who will be considered first for admission.

We recognize that our Waiting List applicants will have other excellent options and many of them will enroll in other schools. Therefore, it is important to note that you must notify us if you wish to remain on the Waiting List. If we accept students from the Waiting List, we will consider only those boys who have expressed their continued interest.  

No, the waiting list is not ranked.

Students offered admission to Avon Old Farms have until April 10 to respond to our offer. We will evaluate the Waiting List throughout the months of March and April. As soon as we suspect that we will be able to make additional offers of admission, we will notify students by telephone.

The Waiting List will expire when our classes are full. Historically, Avon Old Farms generally has been fully-enrolled by the beginning of May, but sometimes we have offered admission as late as August. When we are full, we will inform you in writing and give you the option of remaining on the Waiting List throughout the summer in case space unexpectedly opens up.

We make every effort to award financial assistance to all students who qualify for need-based aid. However, our financial aid resources are often depleted after April 10. If you have applied for financial aid and have been granted assistance, your financial aid award will be included in your admission packet.
