We Run as One
|
Welcome to Avon Old Farms cross country, where we cultivate a love for running, camaraderie, and brotherhood at every skill level.
Our mission is to inspire a lifelong passion for running while instilling values of character, mental toughness, daily discipline, and teamwork. We compete at the highest level in the Founders League and New England, facing new challenges each season.
Our expansive 860-acre campus and surrounding trails provide a diverse and scenic backdrop for our training. From local trails to the challenging pitches of the Metacomet Ridge, our runners forge their paths to success. We are proud to be one of the best boarding schools for running, offering an unparalleled environment for developing talented athletes.
Competing against top teams like Hotchkiss, Loomis Chaffee, Suffield, and Westminster, our season concludes with the Founders League championship and the Division 1 New England Prep School championship. Our athletes have the opportunity to shine in individual races, including the New England All-Stars race and regional qualifying races for national competitions.
At Avon Old Farms, all students train together as one team, fostering cohesion and support. Varsity and junior varsity runners train side by side, creating a supportive environment where everyone can excel. Our top seven runners each week earn varsity distinction and varsity letters at the season's end.
Our Winged Beavers have a rich history of success, with alumni achieving remarkable feats in college and beyond. From Tully Hannan ’09 to recent standout Aidan Rooney ’21 running for Bates College, our legacy continues to thrive.
Experience the signature components of our program, including pre-season camps and opportunities for runners to take their training to Ironman and marathon competitions.
Join Avon Old Farms Cross Country, where the pursuit of excellence is as rewarding as the miles we conquer together. Aspirando et Perseverando - aspiring and persevering, we run as one. |
