With four dedicated teams—varsity, varsity B, junior varsity, and thirds—engaged in daily practices and a robust competitive schedule, Avon's commitment to fostering talent is evident.
The program's unparalleled success is underscored by nine New England Division I championships and ten Founders League championships in the past twenty-six years, setting a benchmark for aspiring schools. Competing in the challenging Founders League against renowned opponents like Choate, Kent, Hotchkiss, and others, the twenty-five game schedule serves as a catalyst for player development.
Facilities at the Jennings-Fairchild Arena offer a cutting-edge environment, featuring newly-renovated locker rooms, training areas, and a video room for performance evaluation. The state-of-the-art weight and fitness center, complemented by a dedicated strength and conditioning coach, ensures year-round player fitness.

The list of alumni of Avon Old Farms hockey is an outstanding one. Heading the list is NHL Hall of Famer Brian Leetch ’86 and elite goalie, Jonathan Quick '05. Leetch and Quick (3x) are Stanley Cup winners and Conn Smythe Trophy winners as the most valuable player in the playoffs for hockey’s ultimate prize. Nick Bonino '07 has won two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins and his former teammate, Cam Atkinson '08 is an NHL All-Star and the Columbus Blue Jackets all-time leading scorer. Olympians and NHL players David Roberts ‘89, Matt Martin ’90 and Quick ’05 have represented the USA in Olympic play and several other Avonians have played, or are currently playing, in the NHL.
