Welcome to the Avon Old Farms School Wrestling Program – where we mold not just athletes, but better men. Our coaching philosophy extends beyond the mat, aiming to develop character, discipline, and a passion for a lifetime of physical fitness.
During the varsity season, wrestlers can anticipate 25-30 matches, including three postseason tournaments. Our top competition schools include GFA, Brunswick, Belmont Hill, and NMH. The Western New England League tournament requires no qualification, ensuring our entire varsity lineup competes. For the New England tournament and the prestigious Prep National tournament, qualification is a must. For non-varsity wrestlers, we organize five or six "JV Jam" opportunities for younger athletes to showcase their skills.
Exclusive use of the Tiernan Room within the Brown Student Center, alongside an extensive fitness center, ensures our wrestlers are at the top of their game. Avon wrestlers will partake in renowned physical practices and an optional summer trip to college wrestling camps at BU, Cornell, Brown, USNA, and USAFA. With brand new mats and uniforms in the 2023-24 season, our wrestlers and managers form a formidable team.
