ENGINEERING AND ROBOTICS LAB

Students at Avon can explore engineering and robotics in our lab, where creativity meets innovation. The lab, featuring industry-standard machines, is a hub for hands-on learning, allowing students to bring their ideas to life.

INTRO TO ENGINEERING

Our foundational engineering course challenges students to solve real-world problems through hands-on projects, building teamwork, creativity, and professional skills using the engineering design process.

AEROSPACE ENGINEERING

Students take their passion for flight to the next level in this fast-paced, hands-on course where students explore the fundamentals of atmospheric and space flight. From launching rockets to flying remotely operated vehicles, this course puts innovation and exploration at the center of every project.

COMPUTER SCIENCE

In our Computer Science course, students develop problem-solving skills, computational thinking strategies, and a deeper understanding of everyday technologies. They will learn to program by creating art, animations, simulations, and games.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING

In this course, students dive into the world of manufacturing, product design, and automation as they learn to use CAD (3D modeling software) and work hands-on with our Haas Milling Machine in the Engineering Lab—collaborating to design, build, and program the mill.

ROCKET BEAVERS

The “Rocket Beavers” robotics team has participated in regional competitions, demonstrating students' skills in building, programming, and team collaboration.

Avon Old Farms students are putting their engineering skills and creativity to the test as they compete in the Connecticut Electrathon, racing electric-powered vehicles designed to maximize efficiency and endurance over a one-hour course.
