23nd Annual Family Weekend Give a Book Program

Dear Avon Old Farms Families,

During Family Weekend, the Baxter Library will be holding its annual book drive. This event provides you with an opportunity to donate a gift in honor of a student, alumni, faculty member, or friend. These gifts are put to immediate use by the Avon Old Farms School community and offer a lasting tribute to the honoree. Your generous gifts also help to provide relevant and diverse print resources to our students and faculty.

You will be able to choose from a selection of carefully curated curricular or recreational books displayed in the library on Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28. The library staff will be on hand to assist you with your gift selections. Payment may be made with cash, check, or credit card, and your donation is tax deductible.

This year, whether you are able to attend family weekend or not, we have set up an online gift registry with an additional selection of books for you to consider. You can use the following link to purchase books online: bookshop.org.

If you are using the online gift registry, make sure to check out as a guest (you do not need to create an account), do not check ‘Wrap in a gift bag’ under ‘Gift Options,’ but make sure to add a gift message if you would like to honor a special person. You can give a book ahead of Family Weekend, or peruse the website while visiting the library. Our staff will be happy to assist you should you have any issues accessing the website.

A special bookplate indicating the name of the person honored and the name(s) of the donor(s) will be placed in each book you give.

We truly appreciate your support.

With gratitude,

Alexandra Casinghino
Library Director
