CAPTAINS CORNER: FINISHING STRONG WITH CROSS COUNTRY
The varsity cross country team finished their season last weekend with a strong showing at the NEPSAC Championship meet. It was a season filled with highs, especially for captain Peter Mok '25, who we sat down with to find out how the season went.

- How long have you been a member of the cross country team?
"I've been on the varsity team for all four years I've been here. This was my first year as captain."
- What did your role as captain entail?
"Logan [Glass '25, the other team captain] and I would lead practices, give coaches feedback on different workouts they gave, guide everyone through warmups, and try to be at the front of races. At the beginning and end of every practice, I gave a little pep talk. I got better at that as the season went on."
- How did the season go?
"We did pretty well. I think we only had one runner who's primary sport is cross country and we were still able to compete with everyone. At the Founders League Championship meet I came in the top 15 runners which means I earned All-Founders League honors. That was a personal goal of mine. A lot of the newer guys improved a lot over the season too. That's good a good sign for next year."
- What was the highlight of the season?
"Probably when we all ran up to Heublein Tower during our second-to-last practice. That was really fun."
- Did you learn anything about leadership in your role as captain?
"I definitely became a better motivator. Also, when kids were acting up, I learned how to get on them for it without putting them down. I was able to get the message across without embarrassing or discouraging them."

Stay tuned for a full season recap of all of our fall sports teams.
