WINGED BEAVERS TRAVEL TO WARMER CLIMATES FOR PRE-SEASON TRAINING
Several Winged Beavers traveled to warmer climates during their spring break in order to prepare for their upcoming spring sport season. In addition to accessing premiere facilities, our teams also had opportunities to meet up with alumni during their trips.
The varsity baseball team enjoyed their annual trip to Florida. The team played eight games and benefitted from seven practices from March 14-21st in sunny Port St. Lucie. The team enjoyed beautiful weather, stayed at the luxurious KGA Kolter Resort, and accomplished the mission of getting ready for the northern season. Having access to an excellent baseball facility multiple times a day, and the ability to compete against strong programs provides an ideal opportunity for the baseball program to prepare for the 2024 spring season. Highlights of the baseball action included an 11-0 victory over a very talented Worcester Academy team, and several other wins against high quality competition. |

The team benefited from training and competing, and enjoyed a meaningful bonding experience as a group. Beyond the baseball experience, the team also enjoyed a day at the beach, stopped by the New York Mets spring training facility, and a cookout hosted by Bobby Mark '80. The team thanks the players for their engagement in the mission, the families for supporting the trip, and the school for its steadfast interest in baseball.
Both the varsity and sub-varsity lacrosse players traveled to the Chula Vista Olympic training facility in San Diego, California. Each group enjoyed a week-long trip consisting of a variety of activities such as practices, beach days, and attending a professional lacrosse game. “This entire endeavor was to get closer as a program & build team culture,” comments Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach Kyle Jackson. |

“When it comes to brotherhood, there’s nothing that brings a group closer than spending time together & getting to know one another on a level separate from just the sport itself.”
Members of the varsity golf team traveled to Florida to begin preparation for the upcoming season. The boys especially enjoyed the opportunity to play with board members including Bill Austin '92, who hosted the team at The Bear's Club, and Brian Conroy '82, H'13, P'20, who invited the boys to Old Marsh. The spring AOF golf trip allowed the boys to find their swings, develop team chemistry, and connect with alumni. Now that school is back in session the spring season has commenced, and our teams have started off strong thanks to their works during break. |
