We Leave Avon Stronger Than We Found It

There is a way to shape Avon’s future that extends well beyond a lifetime.

Legacy giving is a powerful expression of belief in Avon and in the generations of students yet to arrive in Mrs. Riddle’s Village. Through bequests and other planned gifts, Avonians can provide lasting support for the people, programs, and resources that will define the School for generations to come. 

These gifts strengthen Avon’s permanent resources and can support priorities such as financial aid, faculty, and the endowment. They allow donors to make a meaningful investment in Avon’s future while aligning that generosity with their own long-term plans. 

For the Centennial Campaign, legacy giving has particular significance. These commitments extend the impact of the campaign beyond its conclusion, helping to strengthen the foundation on which Avon’s next century will be built. 

To ensure the timely realization of these commitments, legacy gifts counted toward the Centennial Campaign are intended for donors who will be 65 years of age or older by the conclusion of the campaign in December 2028. By documenting a legacy commitment electronically or in writing, donors can have the present value of their gift recognized in the Centennial Campaign and their generosity celebrated during their lifetime. 

Theodate Riddle imagined a school built not simply for one generation, but for those who would follow. Nearly a century later, that vision continues to shape Avon.
